Danish percussion duo Safri Duo stormed the international dance scene with 'Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song)', the lead single from their first mainstream studio album, Episode II. Produced and arranged with Michael Parsberg, the track fuses tribal drumming with electronic textures, creating a propulsive rhythm that sold 1.5 million copies worldwide and became Europe's fourth-fastest-selling single. It topped charts in Denmark and Switzerland, reached number two in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, and peaked at six in the UK and seven on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. Recorded at The Safri Studio in Copenhagen, the release includes multiple mixes, from the original club version to remixes by DJ Tandu, Spanish Fly, and Nick Sentience, highlighting Safri Duo's mastery of live percussion in a club context.
