The late Swiss-born trancemeister Robert Miles' 'Fable' emerged in solo single form three months after Dreamland, his landmark dream-trance mainstreamer, on which the track first featured. The track is an implicit counterpart to that record's chart-topping 'Children'; whereas that one was instrumental throughout, 'Fable' brought Fiorella Quinn's uncredited vocal into the mix as a wordless, treated vocal, somewhere between chant and sigh. Though they're distinct compositions, there's an obvious throughline between them, and are often discussed together as the twin pillars of the Dreamland album.
