First we had Lola Young with 'Messy', and now we've Laufey with 'Silver Lining'. It seems that, in 2025, relationships gone sour are the main source of inspiration! Here the Icelandic singer-songwriter leans back into music hall jazz, swerving and dodging bullets through "go to hells" and other gotcha moments in the lyrics. But vindictiveness isn't the main meal, as Laufey also considers this moment paramount for self-reflection, contrasting her otherwise ruelessly resplendent Vingolf full-length, A Night At The Symphony: "this time, I was interested in seeing how I could draw out the most flawed parts of myself and look at them directly in the mirror."
