By the early 80s, The Alan Parsons Project had turned the studio into something close to a sealed environment, a place where Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson could arrange and re-arrange sound until it sat exactly where they wanted it, this sixth release, first issued in 1982 and now given a careful Abbey Road remaster, arriving as the moment that method tipped into full, radio-facing clarity. 'Sirius' still unfurls with a kind of measured ceremony, its synth motif stacking layer by layer before giving way to the title track, where the vocal lands with a soft, almost disarming directness. 'Psychobabble' and 'Gemini' bring a tighter, more anxious edge, while 'Old & Wise' drifts out slowly, held together by its phrasing and restraint.
