Tatsuro Yamashita's timeless classic, "Christmas Eve," is getting a 2025 version.
It will be released in two formats: an all-in-one edition (CD) with numerous bonus tracks and a 7-inch single!
The 7-inch single "Christmas Eve (2025 Version)" will contain two songs: "Christmas Eve" and "White Christmas.
" "Christmas Eve" was originally released as a 12-inch record single in 1983, but the jacket at that time was not the famous Christmas wreath illustration that is in circulation today, but a simple illustration of the moon and starry sky on a white background. The newly released 7-inch single "Christmas Eve (2025 Version)" will use that original 1983 jacket. This marks the return of the original jacket for the first time in 42 years since its release.
"Christmas Eve" achieved an unprecedented 39th consecutive year in the Oricon Weekly Singles Ranking Top 100 last year, and this year there is much anticipation for it to set a new record of 40 consecutive years in the ranking.
