Scarlatti alla Scarlatti • 33rpm Reference Grade Test Pressing Edition – First Galvanic Growth (20 Copie)
This limited edition features the 20 official Test Pressings from the first galvanic growth of the "Scarlatti alla Scarlatti" project. These are the very first specimens pressed from the blank die, the same one from which the standard run was later created, but with the sonic purity guaranteed by the press's debut on pristine metal.
The technical value of Test Pressing
For reference-level listening, the Test Pressing represents the pinnacle of physical quality. Being the first 20 records produced, they benefit from a matrix free of any wear, ensuring infrastructural silence and a definition of ambient details that tend to fade in mass-produced releases.
Support and Printing: 140gr. Bio Vinyl Optimal
To combine sustainability and audiophile performance, we chose 140g Bio Vinyl, produced by Optimal. The specific density of the Bio Vinyl mix ensures stable rotation and a drastic reduction in background noise, allowing the dynamic nuances of Scarlatti's compositions to emerge with extreme naturalness.
Why 140 grams? The choice of precision.
In a reference-grade production, every detail must contribute to the sound reproduction. The choice of the 140-gram format is not a compromise, but a precise technical decision linked to the quality of the optimal pressing:
-
Thermal Stability: A 140 gram record cools more evenly and quickly than a 180 gram record. This process allows the Bio Vinyl compound to stabilize perfectly, eliminating the risk of micro-shrinkages in the material that cause background noise.
-
Groove Geometry: The 140g weight ensures optimal media flatness. A perfectly flat surface allows the stylus to trace the groove with maximum linearity, drastically reducing mechanical distortion.
-
Transient Response: Thanks to the density achieved with the 140g pressing, the vinyl returns a faster and more precise response, essential for capturing the dynamic details of our full analog mastering.

Our goal was to convey with the utmost clarity the colorful and complex interpretation that characterizes this music, as well as to convey the authentic sound of the Tamburini organ in Naples's Sala Scarlatti, with its more than 4,000 pipes.
We hope this intention will resonate with you, transporting you to that authentic moment.
This album is a bold journey into the heart of Domenico Scarlatti's music, reinterpreted in a modern key.
The multifaceted organist Livia Mazzanti moves away from a purely philological approach to "transmute" the Sonatas, intended for the harpsichord, through the powerful and versatile voice of the instrument designed in the 1980s by Jean Guillou for the Naples Conservatory.
In an act of profound admiration and interpretative freedom, Mazzanti explores Scarlatti's most intimate and most grandiose nuances, creating a dialogue between two keyboard virtuosos, equally stateless and experimenters.
The imperfections of the instrument, now awaiting restoration, give the sound a poetic and fascinating character, making the recording a unique testimony to this extraordinary equidistance between past and future, between Neapolitan soul and French genius.
